It uses familiar elements, like a behavioral goal sheet and award tickets, but it adds the check-in/check-out procedure for starting and ending the child's day. It also has a parent component, requiring the parent to sign and return the behavior report card everyday. The directions for setting up these interventions are very complete. In addition, this book helps you problem-solve the potential pitfalls of these interventions, and shows you how to add a more formal functional behavior assessment to help adjust the plan for children who do not respond well. It very specifically tells you how to set up a "check-in, Check-out" program for students who have some challenging behaviors. It offers a program for those students who value adult attention.
